Orient #2EV03002D Men's Classic Day/Date Gold Tone Self Winding Automatic Watch
Orient Watch was formally established in July 13th, 1950 in Tokyo. However, the history of Orient Watch really dates back to 1901, when Shogoro Yoshida, the founder of Orient, opened a wholesale watch store in Ueno, Japan. Orient Watch has always focused on mechanical watches, primarily automatic watches with its own in-house automatic movements Orient was once part of the "Big Three" watch companies in Japan along with Citizen and Seiko. In the 70s, when mechanical watch companies faced hardship from the mass introduction of inexpensive quartz watches, Citizen and Seiko took the path of mass producing quartz watches, Orient stuck with what it did best, making mechanical watches. Today, Seiko owns a controlling stake in Orient. Orient, however, continues to make its own mechanical movements. For its quartz models, it uses Seiko's quartz movements. What sets Orient apart from other watch companies is really the fact that Orient has always been focusing on making its mechanical movements better and more reliable. It is unusual today to find a watch company that makes its own movement selling watches at prices offered by Orient. Most of the watch companies that do make in-house movements are big name specialized watch companies such as Patek Philippe whose watches ranges from tens of thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. To find a specialized watch company that uses in-house movements selling its watches at prices that are affordable to most people is truly refreshing.more

Orient Men's CFNAA001W Day and Date White Automatic Watch
This collection represents Orient’s classic design with modern accents. You will notice that the construction of this watch was engineered to combine the classical designs of the past with the modern fashions of the present. The variations of this watch have either bold numerals or bars to indicate the hour of the day. This watch is perfect for business environments as well as a casual setting. Orient offers such features as the am/pm indicator. There are two ways to adjust the day and am/pm indicators. The first way is to use the push-button located at the 2 o’clock position. The second way is to rotate the second level time indicator on the crown (time-setting knob). You will notice that the crown has two levels. The first level adjusts the date on the 3 o’clock position, while the second level adjusts the hour and minute hands. For every 12 hours that the hand passes the 12 o’clock position, the am/pm indicator will change. In place of the 9 o’clock numeral is a red marker indicator. The marker allows for the owner to know whether or not the time is in am or pm. This timepiece runs on the power in the spring of the watch. Since this watch is a mechanical, it will power itself as it is being worn. The links for this watch come tapered. You will also notice that the band comes in either genuine leather or a solid stainless steel band. The links for the metal band come in both matte and finished, which allows for a two-tone shine that complements the rest of the watch. For the metal band variation, the watch comes in a deployment clasp, which prevents the watch from coming off by accident. There are a total of 9 variations to this watch. 6 of the watches come in a metal band. Within the metal band series, there are 3 watches that have a silver band. The difference between those 3 variations is the color of their dial: black, blue, or white. 2 watches of the metal band come in gold bands with either a black or white dial. The last metal band variation has a silver/gold band with a white dial. For the leather series, all of the bands come in black. One variation comes in just a black dial. The other two variations have numerals from 11-1 and 5-7 to indicate the hours of the day. They come in either a black or white dial.more
